User Data Deletion Instructions

News of Bangladesh respects your privacy and provides this page to explain how you can request deletion of personal data we may hold about you. This page satisfies data deletion requirements for platforms such as Meta (Facebook) and general privacy regulations.

1. Who Can Request Deletion

Any user who has provided personal data to News of Bangladesh — including email subscribers, guest contributors, or individuals who contacted us — may request deletion of their personal data, subject to legal exceptions described below.

2. How to Submit a Request

Send an email to the address below with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". Include:

The email address associated with your account or subscription.
A brief description of the data you want deleted (e.g. newsletter subscription, contributor profile).
Optional: proof of ownership of the email address if we cannot verify automatically.

3. Email Subscribers

You may immediately stop receiving emails by using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter or alert we sent you (e.g. https://newsofbd.com/unsubscribe/[token]).

To delete your subscriber record entirely from our systems, submit a Data Deletion Request as described above.

4. Guest Contributors

To delete your contributor account and associated profile data, email us from the address registered on your account with "Data Deletion Request". Published articles may remain visible as part of the public archive unless removal is legally required; we will anonymize or remove personal identifiers where feasible.

5. Facebook / Meta Platform Data

If you interacted with News of Bangladesh through a Facebook Page, app, or login integration, we may have received limited data permitted by Meta (such as public profile information or Page interaction data). To delete such data from our systems, submit a Data Deletion Request with the email or Facebook user ID associated with the interaction, if known.

You may also remove app permissions from your Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites.

6. Processing Time

We will acknowledge your request within a reasonable time and complete deletion within 30 days, unless an extension is required by law or technical complexity. We will notify you when deletion is complete or explain any data we must retain.

7. Data We May Retain

Anonymized or aggregated analytics that cannot identify you.
Records required for legal compliance, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution.
Backup copies deleted on our normal backup rotation cycle (typically within 90 days).
