Colombia and Ghana meet on Friday (3 July) as both nations bid to secure a place in the Fifa World Cup round of 16.
The match kicks off tomorrow at 7.30am (BST).
Los Cafeteros topped Group K with seven points after victories over Uzbekistan and DR Congo, followed by a draw with Portugal.
Ghana progressed as the third-placed team from Group L after defeating Panama and drawing with England. With Colombia expected to dominate possession and Ghana content to defend deep, the knockout contest promises to be a fascinating tactical battle.
Colombian coach Néstor Lorenzo is expected to continue with his 4-3-3 formation, relying on patient possession and width to stretch Ghana's compact defence. Daniel Muñoz and Johan Mojica will provide attacking support from full-back, while James Rodríguez, Luis Díaz and Luis Suárez lead the attack. Colombia's greatest strengths are its creativity, technical quality and ability to create chances from wide areas. However, breaking down deep defensive blocks has occasionally proved difficult when space is limited.
Ghanaian coach Carlos Queiroz is likely to persist with a disciplined 4-3-3 system centred on defensive organisation and quick counter-attacks. Thomas Partey anchors midfield alongside Elisha Owusu and Lawrence Agyekum Sibo, while Antoine Semenyo, André Ayew and Kamaldeen Sulemana provide pace and directness in attack. Ghana's greatest strengths are their defensive discipline and physicality, but a lack of sustained possession and goalscoring opportunities remains a concern against stronger opponents.
Colombia are expected to recall Daniel Muñoz, Luis Suárez and Johan Mojica after rotating the squad against Portugal. Ghana remain hopeful Antoine Semenyo will overcome an ankle problem to start, while Benjamin Asare is expected to continue in goal with Lawrence Ati-Zigi sidelined through injury. Jonas Adjetey and Elisha Owusu are both expected to keep their places despite being substituted at half-time against Croatia.
