The Chattogram Port Authority (CPA) today (1 July) inaugurated a new one-stop service centre after reporting record financial and operational performance in FY2025-26, with revenue rising 23.56% year-on-year to Tk6,629 crore.

Built at a cost of around Tk80 crore, the facility brings key port services under one roof and is equipped with security infrastructure compliant with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.

Speaking at a press briefing after inaugurating the centre, CPA Chairman Rear Admiral SM Moniruzzaman said the port achieved record revenue, vessel calls, container throughput and cargo handling during the fiscal year despite operational disruptions.

"Our performance improved across every key indicator, setting new benchmarks for the port," he said, attributing the achievement to coordinated efforts by the port authority, customs, shipping agents, freight forwarders and other stakeholders.

According to CPA data, revenue rose from Tk5,366 crore in FY2024-25 to Tk6,629 crore in FY2025-26.

During the fiscal year, the port handled 4,336 vessels, up 6.35% from 4,077 a year earlier. Container throughput increased by 7.51%, while cargo handling grew by about 5.6%.

Moniruzzaman said the port has maintained zero waiting time for ships at the outer anchorage, although reducing cargo dwell time remains one of its key priorities.

He said the CPA is integrating its digital platform with the National Board of Revenue's system to enable pre-arrival processing, allowing customs formalities to begin before ships berth and helping reduce container and cargo dwell times.

The chairman also said the port's digital platform, CPA Sky, has been integrated with the National Single Window system, paving the way for greater automation of customs and cargo clearance.

He said the investment in the one-stop service centre is expected to be recovered within a year, with the facility projected to generate more than Tk5 crore in monthly revenue.

"The previous one-stop service building has been converted into a Container Freight Station (CFS), which will generate an additional Tk50 lakh in monthly revenue," he added.
