At least two people died of dengue in the country in the 24 hours until this morning, taking the total number of dengue-related deaths this year to 27, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
A press release issued today (13 July) by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of DGHS also reported 327 new patients admitted to hospitals during the same period.
Of the two deaths, one was reported in Dhaka South City Corporation and the other in Chattogram Division.
Among the 327 newly hospitalised patients, 61 were admitted in Barishal Division, 48 in Chattogram Division, 61 in Dhaka Division, 45 in Khulna Division, 17 in Mymensingh Division, nine in Rajshahi Division, four in Rangpur Division and one in Sylhet Division, all outside the respective city corporation areas.
In the capital, 38 new cases were reported in Dhaka North City Corporation and 43 in Dhaka South City Corporation.
During the same period, 230 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals, taking the total number of recoveries this year to 7,800.
The total number of dengue cases recorded in the country this year now stands at 8,650, according to DGHS data.
