Four more ready-made garment (RMG) factories in Bangladesh have earned Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, further strengthening the country's position as a global leader in sustainable apparel manufacturing.
According to Bangladesh Apparel Voice, the newly certified factories are Canvas Garments Pvt Ltd and Matrix Sweaters Ltd, which received Platinum certification, Karim Textiles Limited, which earned Gold certification, and Karim Tex Limited, which secured Silver certification.
With the latest additions, Bangladesh now has 290 LEED-certified RMG factories, including 125 Platinum-rated and 145 Gold-rated facilities.
Canvas Garments Pvt Ltd, located in Chattogram, received Platinum certification with 90 points under the LEED O+M: Existing Buildings v4.1 rating system.
Matrix Sweaters Ltd, based in Gazipur, also received Platinum certification under the same rating system with 88 points.
Karim Textiles Limited, located in Kaliakoir, Gazipur, earned Gold certification with 73 points under LEED O+M: Existing Buildings v4.1.
Karim Tex Limited, situated in Dhamrai, Dhaka, secured Silver certification with 53 points under the LEED O+M: Existing Buildings v4 rating system.
According to Bangladesh Apparel Voice, Bangladesh also continues to dominate global rankings for green garment factories, with 53 of the world's top 100 highest-scoring LEED-certified factories located in the country.
