Bangladesh's point-to-point inflation eased to 9.16% in June 2026 from 9.42% in May, while the 12-month moving average inflation declined to 8.68%, according to the latest data released by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).

However, overall inflation has remained above the 9% mark for the third consecutive month.

Meanwhile, inflation remained higher than a year earlier, when the rate stood at 8.48% in June 2025.

Both food and non-food inflation declined on a monthly basis.

Food inflation fell to 8.60% in June from 9.06% in May, while non-food inflation declined to 9.61% from 9.71% over the same period.

Despite the monthly improvement, both categories recorded higher inflation compared with the same month last year.

Food inflation increased from 7.39% in June 2025 to 8.60% in June this year, while non-food inflation rose from 9.37% to 9.61%.

According to the BBS, the 12-month moving average inflation for the period from July 2025 to June 2026 stood at 8.68%, down from 10.03% recorded during the corresponding period a year earlier.
