Three more children with measles symptoms died in the 24 hours to 8am today (8 July), bringing Bangladesh's combined tally of confirmed and suspected measles-related deaths to 745.

With the latest update, the number of suspected measles deaths has risen to 652, while the number of laboratory-confirmed measles deaths has reached 93.

A total of 796 new suspected measles cases were reported during the 24-hour period, bringing the cumulative number of suspected cases nationwide to 1,08,180.

Meanwhile, 106 new laboratory-confirmed measles cases were recorded, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 13,070.

Since 15 March, a total of 91,270 patients with suspected measles have been hospitalised across the country, of whom 87,628 have recovered, according to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) data.
