The Netherlands and Morocco face off at Stade de Guadeloupe on Monday (29 June) in a high-stakes Round of 32 encounter, with both sides aiming to continue their impressive runs at the Fifa World Cup.

The Oranje enter the knockout tie as narrow favourites following an unbeaten group-stage campaign, while Morocco arrive buoyed by another disciplined and resilient display that secured their place in the last 32.

Kick-off is scheduled for 7am BST on Tuesday (30 June).

The Netherlands are expected to stick with their 4-3-3 system, built on midfield control and rapid attacking transitions. Frenkie de Jong, Ryan Gravenberch and Tijjani Reijnders provide technical balance and composure in midfield, while Brian Brobbey offers a physical focal point capable of linking play with Cody Gakpo and Donyell Malen in advanced areas.

The Oranje's key strength lies in their balance between defensive structure and attacking efficiency. However, they can become predictable against deep, compact blocks if circulation slows, making midfield creativity and tempo crucial to unlocking Morocco's shape.

Morocco are likely to set up in a compact 4-2-3-1, prioritising defensive organisation before breaking quickly through Brahim Díaz, Bilal El Khannouss and Ismael Saibari.

The overlapping runs of Achraf Hakimi and Noussair Mazraoui add width and attacking thrust from deep positions, while Ayyoub Bouaddi and Neil El Aynaoui provide energy and control in midfield.

The Atlas Lions' biggest strengths remain their tactical discipline and transition speed. However, space behind advancing full-backs and relative inexperience in central defence could be tested by the Netherlands' physical and structured attacking unit.

The Netherlands are expected to field an unchanged XI following their group-stage victories over Sweden and Tunisia. Ronald Koeman is unlikely to alter his settled core, with Brobbey expected to continue leading the line after scoring three goals in his last two starts.

Morocco, meanwhile, are set to recall several first-choice players. Noussair Mazraoui and Azzedine Ounahi are expected to return after being rested against Haiti, while Ayyoub Bouaddi is also likely to rejoin the midfield. In defence, Redouane Halhal is pushing to retain his place ahead of Issa Diop.
