US Vice President JD Vance said Israel is "losing the public opinion battle" in the United States and warned against allowing foreign governments to influence US policy, comments he made during an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast.

Vance said the view that Israel is losing support among the American public has also been expressed by President Donald Trump, says TRT World.

The vice president said US leaders should not allow foreign governments to "affect [the] judgment" of American policymakers. He alleged that a foreign influence campaign, citing a Time magazine report, sought to derail negotiations he was conducting with Iran.

Vance also said members of the Israeli government had sought to influence US policy because they wanted military operations to continue. He said he had been "obsessively" attacked over his efforts to negotiate with Iran.

Discussing the case of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, Vance said he believed Epstein had connections to the "highest levels" of American and Israeli intelligence agencies, including the CIA and Israel's Mossad. He also linked Epstein to what he described as "left of centre" elements of the "Israeli deep state."

Vance said the administration had "mishandled" the Epstein case, particularly in the way information had been communicated to the public.

He noted that the US Justice Department released more than 3 million pages of documents in January 2026 under the Epstein Files Transparency Act.
