The government has granted retirement-related benefits to 150 officers of the Army, Navy and Air Force who faced discrimination, injustice and politically motivated actions during their service between 2009 and 4 August 2024, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Defence yesterday (1 July).

Of the officers, 115 are from the Bangladesh Army, 21 from the Navy and 14 from the Air Force, the press release said.

"The decision follows a review of applications submitted by officers who were found to have suffered discrimination, injustice and politically motivated actions during their service between 2009 and 4 August 2024," it said.

The order was issued after examining and reviewing the recommendations of a committee formed by the Ministry of Defence to assess the applications, as well as proposals and recommendations submitted by the respective service headquarters.
