The Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued a notice outlining the mandatory information and documents prospective pilgrims must provide during pre-registration for Hajj.

The notice, issued yesterday (1 July), said pre-registration is the first step for Bangladeshi pilgrims intending to perform Hajj.

According to the ministry, applicants must provide National Identity (NID) card, Bangladeshi passport or a birth certificate, a passport-size photograph, a mobile phone number and a bank account number at the time of pre-registration.

It said members of the same family may use a single bank account for the purpose.

The ministry also made it mandatory for pilgrims travelling under both government and private management to have a bank account to ensure secure and orderly financial transactions related to Hajj.

It further requested prospective pilgrims who have completed pre-registration earlier without submitting bank account details to provide the information during the final registration process.

Pre-registration for the 2027 Hajj began on 1 July.

In line with the roadmap announced by the Saudi government, the Hajj registration process must be completed by 26 Sept, the notice added.
