The second session of the 13th National Parliament and the first budget session of the current government concluded today (15 July), after 26 sittings during which lawmakers passed 10 government bills.
According to the Parliament Secretariat, the House held 14 sittings on the national budget, with 316 members of parliament taking part in the general discussion, which lasted 48 hours and 51 minutes.
A total of 715 notices were submitted under Rule 71 of the Rules of Procedure. Of these, 24 were accepted, while 22 notices were discussed in the House. In addition, 125 two-minute notices were discussed under Rule 71(a).
Under Rule 131 of the Rules of Procedure, the House discussed and disposed of four resolutions.
During the question-and-answer session, 278 questions were submitted for the prime minister, of which 35 were answered in writing and tabled in parliament.
Lawmakers also submitted 5,031 questions to ministers of various ministries, with 3,474 questions receiving responses.
During the session, parliament formed 11 standing and special committees, including the special committee on constitutional amendment, and reconstituted the Business Advisory Committee.
The session, which began on 7 June, was the second session of the 13th parliament and the first budget session of the current government, concluding on 15 July.
