Portugal came from behind to beat Croatia 2-1 and secure a place in the Fifa World Cup Round of 16, with Cristiano Ronaldo equalising before Gonçalo Ramos struck a dramatic stoppage-time winner.
Croatia took the lead and looked on course for an upset before Ronaldo restored parity, setting up a tense finish between the two European sides.
Just as extra time appeared inevitable, Ramos found the decisive goal deep into stoppage time to seal Portugal's comeback victory and book their place in the knockout stage.
Croatia continued to press until the final whistle and thought they had forced extra time when they found the net with virtually the last kick of the match. However, the goal was ruled out for offside following a review, ending their World Cup campaign.
Despite the defeat, Croatia produced a spirited display and pushed Portugal throughout an entertaining knockout contest before bowing out of the tournament.
