A total of 42 HSC candidates at an examination centre in Bogura's Shibganj sat their Logic examination using last year's creative question paper after it was mistakenly distributed to them.

The incident took place today (15 July) in Room 107 of Shibganj Government M H College, confirmed centre secretary and the college's principal, Professor Abul Kalam Asad.

According to the centre authorities, the 2025 creative question (CQ) paper was inadvertently distributed to 42 regular candidates instead of the 2026 paper. However, the multiple-choice (MCQ) question paper was distributed correctly.

The error came to light after the examination ended. The centre authorities subsequently collected the answer scripts and sent a list of the affected candidates, along with their roll numbers, to the Rajshahi Education Board for necessary action.

Professor Abul Kalam Asad said there were 43 candidates in Room 107. Of them, 42 received the 2025 question paper, while one candidate received the correct 2026 paper.

"The question papers are checked by the committee before being handed over to the invigilators. Unfortunately, an unintended mistake occurred," he said.

He added that two invigilators assigned to the room had been served with show-cause notices and relieved of examination duties pending further action.
