Education Minister Dr ANM. Ehsanul Hoque Milon today (28 June) informed parliament that the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) has undertaken various initiatives to nurture the hidden talents of students at the secondary level.
He said this in response to a written tabled question by opposition lawmaker Md Moktar Ali from the Jashore-6 constituency in the Jatiya Sangsad.
The minister said the government has taken an initiative to introduce a new textbook titled "Learning with Happiness" for sixth-grade students from the 2027 academic year with a view to making the learning process more enjoyable and ensuring the spontaneous development of students' hidden talents.
"The textbook will play a supportive role in fostering students' creativity, innovative thinking, self-expression and multidimensional talents," he said.
Dr Milon added that the new textbook would make classroom learning more enjoyable, participatory and student-centred while creating greater opportunities for students to discover and develop their latent abilities.
He said the initiative reflects the government's commitment to promoting holistic education by encouraging students to explore their potential beyond conventional academic learning.
